When mineral makeup meets skincare.
The Jane Iredale make-up range is multi functional – containing vitamins, minerals, natural preservatives and is free from the toxic chemicals found in most makeup products. You can layer them up, or keep it simple, basically the beauty of the range is that there aren’t really any rules. For example, Jane Iredale mineral powders are a foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen in one, plus have the healing properties that are beneficial for the skin. They are all dermologically tested, sensitivity tested, non-comedogenic and the brand is certified Cruelty-free by the CCCI Leaping Bunny Program.
How soon can the makeup be applied after laser, microdermabrasion or peels?
The minerals can be applied immediately after a microdermabrasion or a light peel provided the skin has not been broken. They will not only cover the redness, but the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide may help to soothe the skin. It is also important to replace the protective stratum corneum (top layer of skin) that has been lost after these kinds of procedures. The stratum corneum is the body’s first defence against the sun. Application after laser resurfacing must depend on the physician’s permission, which can be from 5-12 days depending on the kind of laser and how deeply it was used. It is essential for healing skin to be protected from the sun.
